Virtual Summer School

July & August 2021

Our AI activities as part of the Insight into university summer school.

Our contribution to the virtual summer school Insight into university is based on the machine-learning activities newly developed this year for school outreach, now with video lectures and additional programming projects; the summer school content is available as a Canvas course to play and share here: https://tiny.cc/ai-course.

With 116 submissions for the activities and over 40 participants on Zoom sessions, we have reached a great number of students. We are particularly happy to report that our prizes for the best Zoom AI Quiz performance went to three female students, which is indicative of a broad audience.

The summer school contribution was jointly organized with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics. The EEE activity introduced students to circuit simulation and logic gates, with the final part involving students designing and testing their own logic based circuits in an escape-room themed game.
